Prosthodontics

A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in the restoration and replacement of teeth. Prosthodontists receive two to three years of additional training after dental school in a program accredited by the American Dental Association.

The prosthodontist can be thought of as the "architect" of your dental treatment because he or she develops the vision of your final overall treatment plan. They are proficient in oral health diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, and the restoration process. Prosthodontists often coordinate treatment with other dental specialists to ensure the best possible care is provided in a team environment.
